About Ja! Afrika Travel

Ja! Afrika Travel is an inbound touroperator based in South-Africa. We specialize in tailoring holidays for Dutch and Belgian customers, but can cater to to all nationalities. This page is for our South African clients!

What makes Ja! Afrika Travel unique for you as a customer?

Ja! Afrika Travel has a small team. You are always in contact with the same two consultants: Hanneke and Yara, both Dutch nationals living in South-Africa, who can cater to you in Dutch, English or Afrikaans. Hanneke and Yara are in charge of the entire process: discussing your wishes to developing the tailor-made proposal and the final booking arrangements. This ensures short lines. Thanks to these short lines, we manage to tailor every proposal to the exact wishes of the customer: no mass production and no standard packages. We test our accommodations and can advise you from personal experience. We do not book travel parts for our customers which we would not recommend to our own friends and family!

Creating beautiful trips is not only our job, but also our hobby. Although we both originally have a background in education and therefore not in tourism, in recent years we have gained a lot of experience in planning and booking all types of holidays in southern Africa. Our “teacher qualities” often come in handy! We are very patient, we are only satisfied if you as a customer are satisfied, we love to tell you about the beautiful sights and answer all your questions and we are – because we are already ‘locals’ here – deeply involved with the country itself. For example, we think it is very important that our services also mean something to the locals – especially children. We therefore support the charity Child Welfare Kleinmond.

Where can I travel to?

Please find more information about the up to date travel regulations on the website of South Africa Tourism: https://www.southafrica.net/gl/en/trade

Once leisure travel within or even outside your own province is allowed, you can take that much  needed road trip again. International travel will take a bit longer to start, but the tourism industry within South Africa is more than ready to receive South African guests.

We book luxury holidays with a private driver, self drive road trips and even camping trips with a motorhome or 4×4 rooftop camper. We tailor your mode of transport, choice of accommodations and route according to your budget, available days and preferred activiteis.

Let us know what your wishes are, and we create the perfect trip for you.

On this page we listed some of our favourite destinations in South Africa.

1. Lengau Lodge, Greater Kruger Park (Limpopo)

The 4-star Lengau Lodge is situated in the Grietjie Nature Reserve, a private reserve bordering the famous Kruger National Park. Lengau Lodge only has 4 rooms, which makes this safari is exclusive but still affordable. We can book your stay including meals and guided game drives. Enjoy the sounds of the bush, meals under the lapa and 4×4 adventures with your ranger. What more can you ask for?

2. Mosaic Lagoon Lodge, Stanford (Western Cape)

The feel of a safari lodge but on a lagoon, that is how we described this location after we visited the first time. Mosaic offers stunning chalets, unique activities, great meals and views to die for which we can wholeheartedly recommend you. Included in your stay are meals, drinks and activities and when you stay 2 nights you experience all four lodge activities: quad biking, a guided walk with stop for drinks, a boat trip and a 4×4 ride on the beach.

3. AfriCamps (Western Cape, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, Kwazulu Natal)

Camping but with all comforts of a guesthouse, that is what AfriCamps promises and delivers. On some of the most beautiful farms throughout the country you can find these boutique glamping tents which are fully equipped for self catering, sleep 5 people, have their own bathroom, fire pit, braai and some even a wood fired hot tub. Choose AfriCamps if you are ready for an adventure!

4. Sani Valley Nature Lodges, Himeville (Kwazulu Natal)

Sani Valley Lodge is a private nature lodge only 2 hours from Durban, within the dramatic Drakensberg mountain range. This area is famous for the rough Sani Pass which you can drive with a 4×4 vehicle or with one of our guides, but we actually love the lodge itself the most. The lodges are scattered on the edge of the lake which is surrounded by a variety of antelope, zebra, baboons and other wildlife. The low number of secluded lodges makes Sani Valley feel like your very own private holiday home and is the perfect place to relax and have fun. You can enjoy a massage at the spa, take walks, go on a mountain bike ride (bring your own!), be taught how to fish, take the canoes for a spin, lounge in the Jacuzzi, be taken game viewing on horse back and more.

5. African Rock Hotel, Kempton Park (Gauteng)

Staying within the city might not be the first thing that comes to your mind when you live in Johannesburg, but African Rock is a true retreat. This luxury hotel has ample socal distancing space and the staff is trained on covid-19 measures. You will enjoy the very good restaurant, your spacious room, the lush garden and perhaps also the spa. For us the highlight of our stay was a dinner at the Blue Hippo Restaurant. The food is multi flavoured, the opposite of bland but not too strong or too way out. Prepare yourself to experience skilfully blended and unique taste sensations!!!

We can book all destinations on this page (and many more) for a very competitive price! Please send an email to info@ja-afrika.nl for a personalized quote.
